When you sign in, the app mounts your Patrins storage as a Windows drive (P:) using the built-in WebClient service — the same mechanism Windows uses for SharePoint and OneDrive.
The first launch requests admin (UAC) once to configure the Windows WebClient service — it raises the file size cap from 50 MB to 4 GB and increases connection limits. After that, no admin access is ever needed again.
No analytics, no usage tracking. The app only ever talks to patrins.com — your account, your files. Nothing is sent anywhere else, ever.
